Paediatric Fellowship Programme

ESO and SIOP Europe (SIOPE) are pleased to announce this joint Paediatric Fellowship Programme for young paediatric haematologists and oncologists, who are aiming to gain clinical experience at renowned centres across Europe.

Aim

The Fellowship Programme aims to support the education of young and promising paediatric oncologists including the development of their careers in cancer care.  The training will familiarise the trainees with all paediatric haematology and oncology diseases and provide instruction in both diagnostics and therapy.

The selected ‘oncologists of the future’ will have the opportunity to spend a defined period of time (3-6 months) at a centre of excellence in Europe, where they will gain more knowledge in paediatric haematology and oncology.  They will also experience a multi-disciplinary clinical setting specifically designed to address their needs.  Participants will acquire expertise in all issues dealing with the running of a successful cancer unit as well as hospital management issues such as quality control.

Selected applicants

Selected applicants for the ESO–SIOPE Fellowship Programme who have successfully passed their 3 to 6 months stay at the host institution are encouraged and strongly supported in applying for the up-coming SIOPE Course in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (3 to 4 years) as an additional part of their education in the field.
